How to enjoy stars in Tokyo? Planetarium!

Although not commonly known, Japan is full of planetariums. Some can be found in the Guiness world record, such as the biggest planetarium, located in Nagoya. In this article I'll focus only on those you can easily access in Tokyo!

Nihon-Kagaku-Miraikan(National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation)

Opening Hours: 10:00AM ~ 17:00PM (Quite short!)

Prices: Adult 620Yen, Children 210Yen

Closed: Tuesdays, and end-of-year (28Dec. ~ 1Jan.)

Please check for the latest information before going!

After the show, you can enjoy the rest of the displays including ASIMO, one of the first humanoid robots shown in public.

Tokyo Sky-Tree, "Solamachi"

This planetarium is located right under Sky-tree, Japan's tallest tower (634m). Only a few stations away from Tokyo station (take the Marunouchi line to Ootemachi, and then the Hanzoumon line to Sky-tree station), but worth the trip! Many restaurants and shops to be enjoyed afterwards too.

Opening hours: 11:00AM ~ 21:00PM

Prices: Adult ~1100Yen, Children 500Yen

Closed: Tuesdays, and end-of-year (28Dec. ~ 1Jan.)

Please check for the latest information before going!

Shibuya

You will need to take a short walk from Shibuya station, renown for the most crowded zebra crossing in Japan. The journey may be confusing, but definitely worth it if you enjoy walking through chaos, like this: (Although this was taken on Halloween, so slightly special...Perhaps 80% as crowded as this picture)
